Denia is a large busy coastal town and port situated between Javea and Oliva on the Costa Blanca.
The coastal resort is conveniently placed between the airports of Alicante and Valencia. Denia offers ferry links to the Balearic islands, where the closest island of Ibiza is only 1.5 hours away using the new fast craft catamarans. Denia beach is second to none with light white sand and wide beaches that go on for miles. Denia also boasts one of the most modern general hospitals within the region, with translators available if required
The surrounding region has a quiet and relaxing atmosphere, with beautiful and unspoilt scenery and many small villages to explore.
The town itself has pleasantly grown from a small Spanish fishing village to an attractive town which has retained its Spanish heart as well as providing a popular holiday and retirement destination of low rise apartments, villas, and townhouses and not forgetting a great selection of shops, bars and restaurants. Denia is a multicultural location and proves popular with people from all over Europe and beyond looking for excitement, great restaurants and nightlife, yet still retaining a lovely Spanish feel. Enjoy a walk to the Marina with its wonderful selection of seafood restaurants and stunning views over watched by Denia castle.
Denia is popular with young families as well as all nationalities and different age groups
As you will find along Spain's Mediterranean coast the local people are extremely friendly and patient with foreign visitors, not surprising, as aside from fishing and agriculture, they depend on tourism for their livelihood.
With a large European resident community based here there is a pleasant international feel to the area. Most people are pleased to speak English with you and even more pleased if a small attempt to speak Spanish is made.
