Discover Colonia de Sant Pere
Colonia de Sant Pere is on the quiet north-east coast of Mallorca, the largest of the Balearic Islands. A few hundred people live here and while a fair percentage of these are European expatriates it remains a largely peaceful and unspoilt town.
Formerly a fishing village, tourism is now its main source of income, focusing on people drawn there by the small but very pleasant beach, mainly Spanish and their families. It has a pretty harbour and restaurants overlooking the beach but if a busy night-life is what you are looking for from your move to Spain this is probably not the place for you.
However if you want a quiet coastal town with great views and and a bit of history then Colonia de Sant Pere could be just what you are looking for. There are a number of golf courses within a short distance while hiking and water sports are also popular. Palma airport is about an hours drive across the length of the island.
Mallorca is the largest of the Balearic Islands which sit in the Mediterranean sea off the coast of south-eastern Spain. Palma de Mallorca is a large, bustling and sophisticated Spanish city with numerous shops and restaurants as well as a marina containing some of the world’s most expensive vessels. Most of the better known resorts and towns are on the coast while the interior remains surprisingly unspoilt. The island offers something for everyone from the lively town of Magaluf to smaller towns where many European expatriates have made a new home, enjoying the reasonable prices for eating and drinking out while appreciating the wonderful climate and great beaches. This also makes it an ideal destination for golfers with a number of courses dotted around the island, from championship level to those more suitable for beginners.
